The Mackenzie is high-country Canterbury: long distances, hard winters and gravel roads. Vehicles up here work hard, and when one is finished there are very few buyers willing to come and get it. We plan runs into the Mackenzie for exactly that reason.
DEOL buys cars, utes and 4WDs across Fairlie, Lake Tekapo, Twizel and the surrounding stations, collects them free and pays you on collection.
What we buy in the Mackenzie
- Station utes and 4WDs, running or not
- Cars worn out by winter roads, grit and corrugations
- Vehicles with no WOF or lapsed registration
- Crash-damaged and written-off vehicles
- Cars left by seasonal workers in Tekapo and Twizel
Complete vehicles are what we pay for. Tell us if anything has been taken off.
How Mackenzie pickups work
Fairlie is about 185 km from Christchurch, Lake Tekapo about 225 km and Twizel about 285 km. We do not come up for a single car at short notice; we plan runs and confirm a pickup day with you once you accept an offer. Collection is free, from a town section or a station shed. Winter road conditions can move a date, and if that happens we will tell you early.
We cover Fairlie, Albury, Kimbell, Cave, Burkes Pass, Lake Tekapo and Twizel.
Selling to the buyer
There is no sign-up and no auction. Send your plate through the quote form, we call or text you with a cash figure, and if it suits we book you into the next run. You are paid when we load the vehicle, and we complete the NZTA change of ownership.
