Kaikōura is about 180 km north of Christchurch, squeezed between the mountains and the sea. It is a great place to live and a hard place to sell an old car: there are very few local buyers, and salt air means rust catches up with vehicles faster than inland. We plan runs up the coast so Kaikōura sellers get a real offer and free pickup.
What we buy in Kaikōura
- Cars that have failed a WOF on rust, which the coast speeds up
- Non-runners and cars with expensive faults
- Accident-damaged and written-off vehicles
- Utes, vans and 4WDs, running or not
- Cars left behind by seasonal workers and travellers
A complete vehicle carries the value, however rusty it looks. If parts are missing, tell us when you ask for a quote.
Planned runs up the coast
Because Kaikōura is a long run, we do not come up at short notice for one car. When you accept an offer, we confirm a pickup day with you and stick to it. Collection is free from town, from Hapuku and Peketa, from Oaro and Goose Bay, and from the farms out toward Clarence and Mangamaunu.
A sale without the hassle
- Send your plate through the quote form.
- We look the vehicle up and call or text you with a cash offer.
- If you accept, we collect it on the agreed day and pay you on the spot.
No sign-up, no auction and no fees, because you are dealing with the buyer. We complete the NZTA change of ownership for you.
Heading inland? See our page for Hanmer Springs and the Hurunui.
